So the knitting bug has struck again.  Knitting is one of those things I can set down for months at a time then the mood strikes and bam! it’s all I do in my spare time.  After organizing my stash of yarn, I decided to try my hand at some washcloths again.  I have quite a few balls of cotton yarn just for this purpose!  I pinned this pattern months ago and decided to go for it!  It’s super simple and you will soon have it memorized!

You simply work the pattern until you get 14 “points” then bind off and seam the ends together.  Easy peasy, even for the direction challenged such as myself!

Supplies:

Size US 8 / 5 mm needles – circular or straight, whichever your preference

Cotton yarn

Directions:

Cast On 14 stitches and knit back

1. Knit 4, yarn over, knit, leaving 2 stitches and knit back (now you have 15 stitches)

2. Knit 4, yarn over, knit, leaving 4 stitches and knit back (now you have 16 stitches)

3. Knit 4, yarn over, knit, leaving 6 stitches and knit back (now you have 17 stitches)

4. Knit 4, yarn over, knit, leaving 8 stitches and knit back (now you have 18 stitches)

5. Cast off 4 and knit to end – knit back (should be 14 stitches on the needle)

Repeat steps 1-5 for 14 points.  On my last point I binded off when I knit back then left a long tail to sew the sides and joined it to the tail at the beginning of the piece, joining them with a simple double knot.
